Hot Springs has a dining scene that punches well above its size. From legendary breakfast spots to craft breweries housed in historic bathhouses, there's genuinely good food within a short drive of Flint Rock Cabins. These are the places we recommend to our guests — a mix of local institutions, hidden gems, and spots that have come up repeatedly in our cabin guestbook.
The Pancake Shop has been serving breakfast in Hot Springs since 1929 and is one of those places every local will mention unprompted. The pancakes are exactly what you'd hope for — thick, fluffy, and served with real maple syrup. Expect a wait on weekend mornings, and bring cash. It's worth both. Located on Central Avenue, it's a perfect first stop before a day of exploring Bathhouse Row.

Another Hot Springs breakfast institution, the Colonial Pancake & Waffle House has been a local favorite for decades. It's a classic diner experience — booths, friendly service, and a menu built around doing the simple things really well. If The Pancake Shop has a long wait, Colonial is an excellent alternative just a short drive away.

These are the places that make Hot Springs feel like a real town with a real personality — not just a tourist destination. Each one is worth going out of your way for.
Melinda's Coffee Corner & Cafe is the original full-service coffee bar in Hot Springs Village — a locally owned gem on East Glazypeau Road that has earned a devoted following since opening in 2012. Artisan coffees, scratch-made soups, handmade paninis, homemade quiche, and baked goods that regulars say sell out daily. The chicken salad sandwich and cinnamon rolls are standouts. The atmosphere is cozy and unhurried — exactly the kind of place you linger over a second cup without feeling rushed.
It's also the perfect stop before spending the day browsing The Vintage Pearl Market right next door. Grab your coffee and a pastry at Melinda's, then wander the 11,000 square foot marketplace at your leisure.

Awana's Country Kitchen at 4514 Park Avenue is one of those places you'd drive right past without knowing what you were missing — and that would be a mistake. Owner Christopher Awana brings 30 years of culinary experience to a food truck with an attached dining room, serving classic comfort food done right. Reviews consistently call it a hidden gem, and the chicken bacon cheesy melt has converted more than a few skeptics who don't usually do food trucks. The hot dogs have a devoted following of their own. Everything is cooked to order and made with care.
It's the kind of place locals keep to themselves, which is exactly why we're telling you about it.

10 Fiyahside Island Grill on Park Avenue is one of the only authentic Jamaican restaurants in all of central Arkansas — and it delivers the real thing. A Jamaican chef prepares traditional Caribbean dishes including jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, rice and peas, ackee and salt fish, escovitch fish, and brown stew fish. The portions are generous, the flavors are genuine, and the reviews from people who know Jamaican food confirm it's the real deal.
If you've never had authentic Jamaican food, this is a genuinely memorable introduction. If you have, you'll appreciate that they're not cutting corners. Either way, it's one of the most distinctive dining experiences in the Hot Springs area and well worth seeking out.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery holds a genuinely unique distinction — it's the only brewery in the world located inside a National Park, brewing with the natural thermal spring water that made Hot Springs famous. The building itself is a beautifully restored 1916 bathhouse on Bathhouse Row. The beers are excellent and the atmosphere is unlike anything else in Arkansas. Even if you're not a craft beer person, this is worth a visit for the history and setting alone.

Rocky's is a Hot Springs staple for pizza and Italian-American comfort food. It's the kind of place families return to every trip — reliable, generous portions, and genuinely good pizza. Multiple guests have mentioned it by name in our cabin guestbook, which is the highest endorsement we can give. Great for a casual dinner after a day at Magic Springs or the ORV Park.
